The Dunhill Hotel
Downtown Charlotte Featured Hotel
This historic hotel in downtown Charlotte is closing in on its 100th birthday - it was built in 1929 and was originally known as the Mayfair Manor Hotel Apartments. It became The Dunhill in 1988 and features 60 guest rooms. As you'd expect from an older hotel, it is very centrally located, within walking distance of the most popular attractions in Charlotte.
Downtown Charlotte gets visitors for business (the Bank of America headquarters), sports (Spectrum Center arena) and cultural (several performing arts venues) reasons. The area is encircled by interstate highways, with I-77 on the west and I-277 looping around the rest of downtown. It's not the prettiest configuration but makes for easy vehicular access from the suburbs. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is about six miles west of downtown.
